Research Fellowships Programs at The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey – TÜBİTAK
The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) grants fellowships for international highly qualified PhD students and young post-doctoral researchers to pursue their research in Turkey in the fields of Natural Sciences, Engineering and Technological Sciences, Medical Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities. The program aims to promote Turkey’s scientific and technological collaboration with countries of the prospective researchers. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate the potential to contribute significantly to Turkey’s goal of international cooperation in scientific and technological development
Evaluation Procedure
The proposal will be evaluated according to the following 4 evaluation criteria
Research potential of the fellow
Scientific and technological quality of the research proposal
Impact of the proposed fellowship to the applicant’s training and career development to the hosting institution and to Turkey
Implementation of the proposed research
Who Can Apply
Applicants should be non-Turkish citizens. Applicants who hold dual citizenship with Turkey are not eligible to apply
Applicants should have an invitation from the universities or research institutes in Turkey
Applicants should certify that they have sufficient command of language to perform their research
Applicants must be 35 years old or younger
Applicants should be enrolled in a program in abroad for PhD students
Applicants who hold a PhD degree in Turkey should have a GPA minimum of 3.50/4.00 in PhD program
Monitoring Procedure
Successful applicants must send the original copy of following documents in order to be able to use their fellowships
Application form – must be filled electronically
Copy of birth certificate or passport – pages of personal information
Curriculum vitae for the applicant – Template can be downloaded from the program web site
Curriculum vitae and list of publications for the scientist in charge
Research proposal – Template can be downloaded from the program web site
A motivation letter from the scientist in charge
BSc, MSc and PhD transcripts
Permit for leave of absence from applicant’s institution
Language certificate
Two letters of recommendation
Student certificate for PhD students
Copy of PhD Diploma
A letter of acceptance signed from highest authority of hosting institution – for universities: rector or vice rector
Approval report from ethics committee of the hosting institution – if required
Bank account information (account number, iban no, etc.) opened by “Vakıflar Bankası” to applicants name
Letter of commitment which is signed by applicant and hosting researcher – Template can be download from the program web site
A letter written to TUBITAK BIDEB from the scientist in charge which indicates exact research starting date
Documents numbered from 1 to 12 are the same as application documents, from 13 to 17 must be additionally supplied after acceptance. scholarship daily news in www.rightman.ir
The fellow must start fellowship within one year from the date of TUBITAK’s approval. Otherwise, the fellow relinquishes the fellowship and cannot claim any rights
The fellow is required to submit a progress report at the 6th month of fellowship period. Continuation of the fellowship is fully dependent on the approval of the report. The fellow has to submit a final report, signed by the fellow and the hosting researcher, to TUBITAK within one month after the end of the fellowship period. scholarship daily news in www.rightman.ir
