جایزه یونسکو کالینگا سال ۲۰۱۵ در زمینه علوم و تکنولوژی
سازمان آموزشی ، علمی و فرهنگی ملل متحد ( یونسکو ) ، جایزه کالینگا UNESCO / Kalinga را برای سال ۲۰۱۵ اعلام کرده است.
این جایزه هر سال به کسی اهدا می شود که فعالیت های چشمگیری در زمینه علوم و تکنولوژی در یکی از حوزه های نویسندگی ، ویراستاری ، سخنرانی ، فیلم سازی ، تهیه کنندگان برنامه های رادیویی و تلویزیونی انجام داده باشد. دریافتکننده این جایزه می باید در خصوص تاکید بر اهمیت بین المللی علوم و فناوری و نیز برای بالا بردن سطح رفاه عمومی ، غنی سازی میراث فرهنگی ملل و نیز حل مشکلات پیش روی انسان ها، تلاش و همکاری کرده باشد.
هر کشور عضو یونسکو می تواند به توصیه انجمن ملی توسعه علم و یا دیگر انجمن های علمی ، انجمن ملی نویسندگان و یا روزنامه نگاران علمی، یک نفر واجد شرایط را از طریق کمیسیون های ملی به یونسکو معرفی کند.
متقاضیان باید با توجه به اطلاعات و شرایط مندرج در اطلاعیه جایزه ، نسبت به تکمیل فرم و مدارک مربوط اقدام کنند. مهلت وصول مدارک به کمیسیون ۳۰ اردیبهشت ماه ۹۴ تعیین شده است. مدارک داوطلبان باید در پنج نسخه به کمیسیون ارسال شود و هر گونه نقص و یا تاخیر در ارسال مدارک، مانع بررسی آن خواهد شد.
مدارک متقاضیان در کمیسیون ملی یونسکو بررسی خواهد شد و یک نفر از میان داوطلبان به بخش مربوط در یونسکو معرفی می شود.

Call for nominations for the UNESCO Kalinga Prize for the Popularization of Science

Jointly funded by the Kalinga Foundation Trust, the Orissa Government of India and the Indian Government, the UNESCO Kalinga Prize for the Popularization is an international distinction that rewards a person who has had a distinguished career as a writer, editor, lecturer, radio/television programme director or film producer, which has enabled him/her to help to interpret science, research and technology to the public
In today’s fast paced, ever changing world societies are faced with increasing challenges – from eradicating poverty to dealing with the impact of climate change. Science can be a vital tool in coming up with equitable and sustainable solutions for these challenges. By bridging the gap between scientists and the public the benefits of scientific knowledge can be used to improve daily lives, to widen understanding and to build on solutions to overcome local, regional and global challenges. Popularizing science includes all activities that communicate scientific knowledge and scientific methods to the public, outside the formal setting of classrooms. It encompasses museums, shows and fairs, and work to promote public understanding of the history of science. To date, sixty-six individuals, from twenty-four countries have received this award; six of whom have also been Nobel-Prize winners. Daily News by www.rightman.ir
Nominations should be submitted to Director General by the governments of Member States, in consultation with their National Commissions, and by non-governmental organizations maintaining official partnerships with UNESCO. Each Member State and non-governmental organization may designate one candidate. Nominations for the prize should reach UNESCO by 29 May 2015
