ترجمه انگلیسی شعر سعدی و هاتف اصفهانی

دکتر علیرضا جعفری ، استادیار گروه زبان و ادبیات انگلیسی دانشکده ادبیات و علوم انسانی ، دو شعر ماندگار فارسی ( یکی از سعدی و دیگر از هاتف اصفهانی ) را به زبان انگلیسی در قالب شعر ترجمه نموده ‏اند، با هم می ‏خوانیم.

بگذار تا بگریم چون ابر در بهاران / کز سنگ ناله خیزد روز وداع یاران

هر کاو شراب فرقت روزی چشیده باشد / داند که سخت باشد قطع امیدواران

با ساربان بگویید احوال آب چشمم / تا بر شتر نبندد محمل به روز باران

بگذاشتند ما را در دیده آب حسرت / گریان چو در قیامت چشم گناه کاران

ای صبح شب نشینان، جانم به طاقت آمد / از بس که دیر ماندی چون شام روزه داران

چندین که برشمردم از ماجرای عشقت / اندوه دل نگفتم الا یک از هزاران

سعدی، به روزگاران مهری نشسته بر دل / بیرون نمی توان کرد الا به روزگاران

چندت کنم حکایت، شرح این قدر کفایت / باقی نمی توان گفت حتی به غم گساران

سعدی 

Like showers in springtime, let my tears flow / even rocks bitterly cry when lovers depart and go

Who has drunk the poison of separation, knows / for those who hope against all hope, the same goes

Tell the caravan leader the tale of the deluge in my eyes / that he might not take the camels out under such skies

My eyes burn with the searing tears of desire / like sinners burning in inferno’s fire

O long-awaited morning of night souls, I’m drained / as are fasting believers whom the long day has pained

I seem to have said much about your love’s tale / compared to the unsaid, though, those said will pale

Sa’di! Your heart’s gift of love was given you by Time / to stop it living is a height only Time will climb

How much more shall I say?, what I already have, will do / the rest may not be told, even to those who ever with love rue

از تو ای دوست نگسلم پیوند / ور به تیغم برند بند از بند

الحق ارزان بود ز ما صد جان / وز دهان تو نیم شکرخند

ای پدر پند کم ده از عشقم / که نخواهد شد اهل این فرزند

پند آنان دهند خلق ای کاش / که ز عشق تو می دهندم پند

من ره کوی عافیت دانم / چه کنم کاوفتاده ام به کمند

در کلیسا به دلبری ترسا / گفتم: ای جان به دام تو در بند

ای که دارد به تار زنارت / هر سر موی من جدا پیوند

ره به وحدت نیافتن تا کی / ننگ تثلیث بر یکی تا چند؟

نام حق یگانه چون شاید / که اَب و ابن و روح قدس نهند

لب شیرین گشود و با من گفت / وز شکر خند ریخت از لب قند

که گر از سر وحدتی آگاه / تهمت کافری به ما مپسند

در سه آیینه شاهد ازلی / پرتو از روی تابناک افگند

سه نگردد بریشم ار او را / پرنیان خوانی و حریر و پرند

ما در این گفتگو که از یک سو / شد ز ناقوس این ترانه بلند

که یکی هست و هیچ نیست جز او / وحده لا اله الا هو

هاتف اصفهانی

I won’t let go of you my friend, whatever the price / even if my enemies threaten to dice and slice

Our lives in hundreds are worth nothing indeed / half a sweet smile from you will make all our hearts bleed

Your advice on love, father, are so many words wasted / love is a vice to which I’m glued and pasted

O let them go and offer their wise advice / to those who would see me separated from my sweet vice

I know what road is safe and what is not / but I am trapped by love, can’t fight my lot

In a church I set eyes on a Christian doll / and let her know that she has me in thrall

You to whose Christian girdle is tied fast / my every hair strand, first and last

Enough of this scandal of trinity / when will we experience love’s unity

How come the one and only God’s name is split / into Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit

To speak to me, she opened her sweet lips / her sugary smile trickling in drops and drips

You know all about the mysteries of unity / how would you accuse me of irreligion with impunity

The timeless Beloved unveiled Himself in three mirrors / other notions are simply nothing but errors

Silk will not become three, it will be silk / whether you call it this, that, and other things of the same ilk

We were hotly pursuing this conversation / that we heard notes of the church bell’s tintinnabulation

There is only the One, and none but He / He is the one, the only God to Be
