Current 3D inkjet printing systems are capable of dispensing a relatively restricted range of materials, due to the intrinsic feasible range of viscosity and surface tension values for each printhead. These physical limits preclude 3D printing of materials which would be beneficial in a number of applications. The aim of this project is to use advanced numerical analysis and optimisation techniques to enhance the design of inkjet printhead nozzles to enable dispense of materials with high viscosity/filler content and/or high surface tension. scholarship daily news in www.rightman.ir

The successful applicant will have at least an upper second first degree in engineering and/or physical sciences with a strong numerical content. Any experience in the following is an advantage: (1) computer simulation of fluid flows using commercial CFD software packages (2) numerical optimisation techniques and (3) programming languages such as C#, C++, Fortran. scholarship daily news in www.rightman.ir

In addition, the successful candidate will receive a contribution to tuition fees equivalent to the university’s Home/EU rate for the duration of their scholarship. International applicants will need to pay the remainder tuition fee of £7,279 for the 2014/15 session and is subject to an annual increase. Scholarships are available for three years from the date scholars first register as an MPhil/PhD student with the university. Scholarships are available for full-time study only.
