Learning roots, prefixes and suffixes helps you have the tools needed for decoding difficult words and breaking down unfamiliar words into segments that are easily understood.

root : equ, equi, iqu

meaning : equal

Examples :

Part 1

equal
the same in size, value, amount

equate
to consider that one thing is the same as something else

equation
a statement that the values of two mathematical expressions are equal

Part 2

equator
imaginary line dividing the northern and southern hemispheres into equal parts

equinox
one of the two times in a year when day and night are equal in length everywhere

equatorial
relating to the equator, or near the equator

obvious
